Trumpet Banners
There are many examples of Third Reich period podium banners depicting a diverse array of eagle styles- embroidered/ stitched, printed or separately attached.
Example 1: 49cm x 49cm
The front with gold-embroidered navy national eagle in gold-plated metal thread embroidery on a blue cloth backing. Underneath the embroidered inscription: “14. S. St. A.” (14th Ship – Trunk – Division). The back in the form of the imperial war flag in the finest embroidery quality. Three-sided golden fringed hanging made of gilded metal threads with gold edging. Attachment loops at the upper end. Banner of the Kriegsmarine.
Example 2: 55cm x 55cm
The front made of yellow cloth with an embroidered Wehrmacht national eagle in silver-plated metal thread embroidery. Border made of metal thread mesh. The back with a regimental cipher made of gold-plated metal threads: “PZGR 4” on a white cloth backing. Three-sided silver-plated fringe hanging. Metal rod with fastening eyelets sewn into the top.
Example 3: 48cm x 43cn
Blue velvet embroidered on both sides with NSDAP national eagle in particularly fine, plastic embroidery quality made of silver-plated metal threads. Four-sided silver embroidered border, the underside with fringes. Eyelets sewn on the upper edge.
Example 4: 50cm x 59cm
The front with hand-embroidered Wehrmacht national eagle made of white and black wool threads on a black cloth base, The regimental emblem “J III R / 102” embroidered in black wool threads on a sand- colored background on the reverse . Three-sided fringes made of silver-plated metal threads and braided metal threads on all sides. Attachment loops at the top.
Example 6: 50cm x 47cm
On the front, in the finest silver thread embroidery on a black cloth underlay, the army national eagle and the emblem “PB 34” (pioneer battalion 34) within an oak wreath. The back with the traditional emblem of the 1st Rhenish Engineer Battalion No. 8 , within an oak wreath with the Iron Cross 1914. Above it the Prussian royal crown. Finest gilded metal thread embroidery on white cloth underlay.
Example 6: 47cm x 47cm
On the front the embroidered designation in Fraktur script: “1. U-Boot Flotille / Weddingen. Yellow wool thread embroidery on a blue velvet base. The back with large embroidered submarine war badge on a blue velvet backing. Three-sided golden fringed hanging made of gilded metal threads. Attachment loops at the upper end. Particularly beautiful trumpet banner of the German submarine weapon of great rarity.
