Note: These desk eagles are believed to be post-war casts by the artist albeit produced in very limited numbers in high quality and heavy bronze.
Bronze eagle in the shape of the eagle in the Luitpoldarena at the Nazi party rally grounds in Nuremberg (original eagle stands 7m tall). Includes the monogram “K. S. – E” inscribed on the side. Mounted on a green, chamfered stone pedestal.
Schmid-Ehmen created a small sculpture of the original seven-meter-tall eagle only once before 1945 on behalf of the city of Nuremberg as a gift for Reich Minister Hanns Kerrl.After the war he made around a handful of these model eagles similar to the originals as per the examples seen here.
