History:
Professor Kurt Schmid-Ehmen (1901-1968) is considered the creator of the Third Reich imperial eagle – commonly known as the ‘Nuremberg Eagle’ due to his two large bronze examples publicly displayed at each end of the Luitpold Arena in Nuremberg. Professor Schmid-Ehmen initially produced his largest example of the Nuremberg eagle (nine meters high) for the German Pavilion at the 1937 World’s Fair in Paris and received the Grand Prix de la Republique Française for his design.
