Availability: Uncommon

Maker: Rank and Fritz

Size: Small

Material: Zinc/ White metal – Non-magnetic

History/ Description:

This Feldherrnhalle martyrs plaque is a desk piece sculpture of the original Mahnmal in Munich designed by Kurt Schmid-Ehmen. The front lists the names of the 16 comrades which fell on November 9th 1923.  The back has the inscription “Und ihr habt doch gesiegt!” (And you triumphed nevertheless!). They can be found with either a bronze or silver finish.

The dimensions are approx. 6″ wide, 2 7/8″ in depth, and 5 5/8″ in height. Given the difficulty in finding these it is speculated that these were possibly retained by those who were involved with the putsch or political figures (possibly recipients of the B.O.- ‘Blut Ordern’).

Known copies/reproductions:

Below are some photos of copies/reproductions of the original desk piece. This reproduction piece is easily identified as a bronze casting of the originals – note the poor details on the eagle and swastika and the rear text block is not crisply executed.
