FVM Bowl

Misc > Plates & Bowls > FVM Bowl

Here is another fine example of a Third Reich period functional art piece presented as an award. Each of the three eagles has the little base attached separately to the eagles and the eagles themselves are attached to the bowl with pins. This is a a very heavy hand crafted artisan piece. Clearly a lot of work has gone into the production of this one, the bowl is quarter-inch thick bronze, hand beaten into a bowl, the eagles are hand-cast bronze and holes drilled into the bowl for the attachment pins. The bowl is engraved with a dedication regarding “Kraftfahr in November 1939” and the piece is also maker-marked by F.v.M, it has gathered a nice patina as would be expected for a bronze piece of this age.
