Another cast iron wall plaque, this one manufactured in 1936 by the foundry Lauchhammer with the designer’s initials at the top right – in this case noted German artist Richard Klein. Richard Klein (born 7th January, 1890 in Munich; & died 31st July 1967 in Weßling) was a German painter, sculptor, graphic artist and Medal designer. From 1935 he was a manager of the state school for applied arts in Munich and was an important artist for the German National-Socialist regime designing many medals and badges – most notably for the yearly Reichparteitag celebrations.
