Maker: PF
Availability: Rare – two types available as below
- Type 1 – standard
- Type 2 – 720 & 16493 marking
“PF”. Type 1
These letters were indented and were found on the right hand side of the swastika (reverse of eagle) – refer to the 1st picture below. Positioned above this mark is also the GAL-MG material designation. The maker is unknown. The sizes known are 680mm (27″) and 720mm (28.5″) and there are two known examples. There also are reproductions of the “PF” eagle however they are very bad and obvious fakes .

Note: Interestingly, the “GJ” or “JG” maker has exactly the same markings but obviously a different makers mark. Both these makers are unknown.
There appears to be instances of 4 Bolts Type 1
The following combinations have been observed:
Example 1:
Example 2: Also shown in Reichsbahn notables
Interesting note:
- The PF eagle back seems to have combinations of two molds. There seems to be markers for where the bolts are and others where bolts could have been. This may be due to a configurable back being used to make multiple sizes and configurations or it may be that a mold (24″ ,28″ or 35″) was modified at some point to make another model (27″). Both options are speculation of course.
Reproduction examples:
Reproductions of this maker exists. More information can be found here.
PF – Type 2 (16403)
These eagles have unusual marks on reverse of swastika and right wing (back) and no visible makers mark – unless the makers mark is 16403 on the lower left wing. Note the “16403” marking is unknown and may not be a makers mark but have some other unknown meaning. The size is 720mm (28″).
-
- GAL Mg on the back above the swastika
- Various markings inside the swastika arms – RZA, HY 51, BLN and one other indistinguishable marking
- “Wag 720” on the right wing (back)
- “16403″ on the lower left wing (back)
- Three studs on the reverse of the swastika, 5 in total
- There is markings on the insides of the swastika that look like fingerprints – possibly suggesting the molds were manually modified before casting.

The bolt configuration for both sizes is 5 Bolts Type 1.
The following combinations have been observed (1 sample assuming threaded but hard to tell as studs cut):
Example: Size: Height. 395 x Width. 725 x 15 mm, Weight: 1,502 gr.
