Availability: Rare (less than 10 known examples)
This is the rarest size of the Reichsbahn eagles. On the 900mm eagle the backing of the swastika can be open unlike on the smaller and front facing eagles where the wreath and swastika have a solid background. The open swastika is only on a few samples. An example can be seen here.
The 900mm (35″) eagles were designed for use on train tenders, although this was not strictly adhered to.

- GAL Mg Si (The composition of the material used to make the alloy – Aluminium, Magnesium, Silicon)
- GAL Mg Si Pd (as above but with the addition of Pd-Palladium)

Points of note:
- The 90cm eagle is only Reichsbahn eagle that has a version with a cut out swastika. Refer here
- The APAG 900mm eagle is heavily reproduced.

- A J&Z example has on the rear of the swastika a small M above the numbers 45 in small circles
